The Sea Panther is a twin jet amphibious flying boat aircraft. It is being developed by Pepin Aero, LLC in Greenville, Maine USA. The Sea Panther will cruise at 420 kts at 38K feet yet will stall at 60 kts allowing water operation using hydrofoils. It will be the fastest amphibian in the world.
Pepin Aero, LLC is collaborating with G2 Systems Design of Wichita, KS to develop the Sea Panther. Preliminary design includes trade studies to establish the outer surface shape, engine selection, and validation of target performance. Two areas of technical challenge include the 7:1ratio of cruise speed to stall speed and water operation using hydrofoils. The preliminary design for the four place version is complete while the air taxi version design is ongoing. Structural design of both versions of the Sea Panther is planned shortly.
Possible missions for the Sea Panther include military special operations, medevac, bird dog for fire fighting tankers, coastal patrol, air taxi for island resorts, and other amphibious requirements. Our case study provides details of medevac scenarios. Details of other missions will follow.

Remote regions with limited infrastructure face expensive and time-consuming medevac missions due to:
Current systems have 8-12 hour evacuation timelines, with costs exceeding $25,000 per mission. This leads to both increased mortality due to delayed care and financially inaccessible medical care

Pepin Aero’s platform combines:
Core Innovation:
A clean-sheet amphibious twin turbojet capable of:
The Sea Panther concept allows medevac to land on protected bays, harbors, or short runways. This amphibian can then efficiently stabilize patients inside a pressurized cabin (8,000 ft equivalent) with a full medical configuration providing Direct to Care with: no transfer, no delays, and <2.5 hour transport times.
